“The Gardner, located at 311 E. Franklin, is the oldest continually operating hotel in El Paso. It has its share of history, as well. Most notably, the notorious bank robber John Dillinger and two members of his gang checked into the hotel in 1934.
Owner Joe Nebhan’s father acquired the hotel in 1962.
Nebhan made significant improvements to the façade in 2012 and made an effort to attract new businesses to lease its storefronts and basement, which currently house two restaurants, The Pizza Joint and Pot Au Feu, and two bars, Craft & Social and The Speak Easy.”
